He emphasized that in Bulgaria the institutions are crumbling, and trust in them is below 10-15%. In this situation, the president remains the only political authority, said Zarkov.
He explained the reasons for the presidential veto on changes to the Investment Promotion Act.
Zarkov commented on the so-called “green racket”, explaining that it is indeed possible to abuse the right to appeal projects for the sake of environmental protection. The fact that there may be abuse of a right does not mean that we should abolish the right, as the proposed changes did, Zarkov explained.
„The SJC can now be read not as Supreme, but as Eternal Judicial Council”, the president's adviser also said. Zarkov pointed out that it remained unchanged as one of the major shortcomings of the National Assembly in this mandate.
